RoomSixty

Youth Project

RoomSixty has been running since 2007. It was started by the church with the vision of meeting the needs of the young people in the community. Since 2019 funding is provided by external funders and donations from church members.

RoomSixty provides a vibrant youth development programme addressing issues which are important and relevant to young people. We provide support and opportunities to help them achieve their fullest potential. Sessions run throughout the week and are overseen by a Youth Worker and a team of Volunteers.

Schools Work

We have formed strong relationships with our local primary school and work alongside them in supporting young people.

Mentoring is a big part of our schools work. Children benefit from a little extra support out of class with our youth worker. We offer a safe space for them to talk and play.

Drop-in Sessions

The drop-in sessions on a Monday and Wednesday are open to young people from the local area to provide them with a safe place to meet with friends, opportunities to engage in activities and also to build positive relationships from the youth worker and volunteers.

We run a junior session on Thursday afternoon after school.

Holiday Club

Holiday Clubs are an opportunity for RoomSixty and the church to come together with the community at Easter and Summer for a fun filled program. A day at holiday club typically consists of games, activities, songs, a Bible story and a snack.

Camps

We organise residential camps each year taking groups to Christian outdoor activity centres including Gowanbank and Lendrick Muir

The young people who attend these camps benefit from meeting other young people, trying out new sports, discovering new skills and building self-confidence and resilience .

Youth Festivals

In recent years we have taken young people to events such as Soul Survivor (now known as Magnitude) and SU Ayrshire Camps. These events give young people the opportunity to meet other Christians, learn more about God and spend time in worship. There are also loads of fun activities going on during the day such as a silent disco, climbing, biking, inflatables and movies.
